This time of year is always busy with homework in the form of pre-Spring cleaning and tax preparations. We're praying for all of those who are currently and have been in the path of the severe storms. We're still waiting to hear from some of our friends and family. We'll be at the Rita Smith Gallery this Sunday and next week Saturday, so We hope to see some of you in the near future. I'm still working on getting some things done around the house so that we can
The week is a busy one! Beginning with the Super Bowl and good times with friends. Mom's getting ready for a workshop with Nancy Grills the end of this week and I'll be working away.... Hope everyone has a great week!
I've been updating the website to separate the types of art between jewelry, pottery, painting, etc. My hope is that this makes it easier to view the artwork. Happy last day of January everyone!
It's definitely been a busy holiday season, but as things calm down it's time to plan for the new year. Thoughts are moving forward about new jewelry pieces to be made and plans for working in the studio. 2012 goals: 1) Develop at least one new jewelry line/style, 2) Develop palmetto pottery line, 3) Continue on the organization plan for the studio and most of all to Enjoy Life
It's been a good day at the Rita Smith Gallery. We've seen some people that we haven't seen in a while. Enjoyed excellent potato soup and the bacon/cheese/apple sandwich from Starbucks in Barnes & Noble. We're here till 9 tonight with the holiday hours, so stop by for a visit...
Ooops, it's actually 12/17 and I realized how far behind I am with blogging. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at home and headed to Orlando, FL for vacation at Universal Islands of Adventure. Our trip was a celebration of mom's recovery, mom's graduation from seminary and my birthday. We had a blast visiting Harry Potter World and having breakfast with the Who's and the GRINCH. The Royal Pacific resort was wonderful. We are already missing the butter beer... hope we can go back soon
It's been an interesting start to November. We're still knitting and crocheting, but have been slowed down by illness. On the mend though. I'm thankful my Tigers have an off week as I don't know how much more excitement we can take. It's time for a break. There's going to be a really good show at the Columbia Art's Center tonight for those that can make it. Nancy Grills & friends will be displaying their artistic talent. We hope to make it, but mom is getting ready to start her heart stress test this morning. We'll have to play it by ear on what the rest of the day will bring. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!
It's been a busy week with lots of packing and traveling included. We had a blast at Pugfest this year and really appreciated the tremendous support. We're already looking ahead and planning for next year. Mom's pug sunset painting was a hit and it really touched her at how much it was liked. We started last year with surprising a SEPRA volunteer with a painting of their pug. We were excited to be able to present Devon and Michael with a painting of their loved one this year. She was truly a special pug that captured their hearts. So far mom has given 3 paintings and we hope to continue this as a thank you to those that support and help pug rescue. I was a little disappointed that my Tigers lost Saturday night, but they're already having a better season than I anticipated. I love my Tigers! We're resting and recovering now.
Mom and I have also been discussing our holiday plans. We have decided to simplify this year and will only have our artwork at the Rita Smith Gallery for this season. Please stop by if you get a chance and look at all the wonderful items. God Bless - Yolanda We're busy, busy getting items ready for the silent auction and for sale at Pugfest. All are welcome to attend - with pug or without. There is a small fee to get in, but all of the money raised goes to support the pugs. We'll have some of our items for sale with 100% of sales going to SEPRA for pug rescue. Take a look at the Pugfest 2011 page to see a sample. We're also adding new items to the Rita Smith Gallery today - just in time for your Christmas shopping. God Bless you & God Bless my Tigers! Happy Saturday everyone!
Well, it's been an interesting week, as usual. Always too much to do and not enough time to get it done. Mom's been busy making some Christmas ornaments, bracelets and pins. I've been busy at work and then trying to make some jewelry when time permits. We'll be putting some new things in the Rita Smith Gallery this coming Saturday, so plan to stop by and see us if you're in the neighborhood. Hope you had/have a great weekend. Yesterday evening was very interesting. I'm thankful that Clemson won. Go Tigers!
